Understand the common faults of servo motors

1. Fault phenomenon: the servo reports an error OL, the servo motor cannot be started, and there is abnormal sound fault analysis and possible causes:


(1) Bearing damage, foreign objects falling and stuck, stator magnet bursting and falling off, or moving mechanism stuck, etc., are caused by the motor itself.


(2) The external causes of the motor include: phase loss operation, failure of the starting equipment, and severe overload of the motor.


2. Fault phenomenon: After the servo motor is started, the running sound is abnormal. Fault analysis and possible causes:


(1) Group circuit touch grounding group connection


(2) Caused by the mechanical structure of the motor: the casing is broken, the shaft and the bearing are too loose, the rotor and the stator are rubbing, the stator core is loose, the bearing is damaged or the lubricating oil is exhausted.


3. Fault phenomenon: After the servo motor is started, the speed is fast and it cannot be stopped.


Failure analysis and possible causes:


(1) It is caused by part of the rotor: the rotor magnetic field is not good, and the rotor and the magnetic steel are offset.


(2) Some of the reasons for the encoder include: the encoder program is lost, the logic chip is damaged, and the zero position is incorrect.
